How I work

Your body is designed to be in motion. The ability to move freely is something we should never lose.

The problem?

Our lives get in the way of our moving body and we falsely believe pain is a natural part of life, or that we should move less when we are in pain. The truth is, it’s possible to reduce your pain and stiffness with movement. Your body is intelligent, capable of healing itself as well as harboring emotions that manifest as pain, tightness, and discomfort. We carry our emotional and physical histories in our bodies everywhere we go. Our pasts cause our muscles and tissues to tighten and our energy to get blocked. To stay healthy, we have to find a way to move better.

Let’s talk

I will help you discover the source of your pain and create a movement plan that will give you the tools you need to heal yourself. We’ll begin with a consultation to discuss your physical history. Once I learn what your body has been through, I will give you exercises that are safe and effective. You will also learn how to turn bad habits into healthy ones, and how to fit a healthy lifestyle into your busy schedule

Things we will discuss include your history of physical trauma, like injuries, surgeries, or accidents. We will also talk about chronic pain that happens over time due to repetitive stress or postural misalignments, or faulty movement patterns. I will help you unravel the patterns that cause pain and find new, healthier ways of moving your body.

We will also work on regulating your nervous system physically by creating alignment for your Vagus nerve, which is responsible for your fight or flight response in your body. I will give you meditation and breathing tips so you can begin returning your physical body to a state of calm. From that peaceful physical state, you will be more successful at relieving your other physical aches and pains.

Did you know…

By stimulating the vagus nerve in a healthy way, you can send a message to your body that it’s time to relax and de-stress, which leads to long-term improvements in mood, wellbeing, and resilience.
